Virat Kohli has created a big history. He has become the Indian fielder with the most catches in men's T20 cricket. He has destroyed the impressive record of former veteran cricketer Suresh Raina. Kohli accomplished this feat on Monday in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs Punjab Kings (PBKS) match in IPL 2024. RCB's star player Kohli took two catches against Punjab. He hunted down Jonny Bairstow and captain Shikhar Dhawan.
Kohli registered his name in the record book as soon as he took the catch of Bairstow. Bairstow tried to play a shot in the air on the third ball of the third over bowled by Mohammed Siraj. The ball became stationary and Kohli ran from extra cover and took the catch. Whereas, Dhawan caught Kohli at long off in the 13th over. This over was done by Glenn Maxwell. Kohli now has a total of 174 catches in his account. Raina has slipped to second position with 172 runs. After him is Rohit Sharma (167).

Talking about the match, RCB won the toss and chose bowling at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Punjab did not have a good start. Bairstow could score only 8 runs. After this, Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh took charge. Both made a partnership of 55 runs for the second wicket. Prabhsimran got trapped in Maxwell's net in the ninth over. He added 25 runs. Dhawan missed fifty. He scored 45 runs in 37 balls. Liam Livingstone (17) could not play a big innings. He was sent to the pavilion by Alzarri Joseph in the 12th over.
