The batsmen of Kolkata Knight Riders thrashed the bowlers of Delhi Capitals in the match played in Vizag on Wednesday. Kolkata had a chance to break the highest total in the history of IPL but the team's star all-rounder Andre Russell returned to the pavilion on the first ball of the last over, due to which Kolkata missed out on making this record. However, to dismiss Andre Russell, Ishant Sharma bowled a dangerous yorker, while trying to play which Andre Russell fell on the ground.
Andre Russell had scored 41 runs in 18 balls before being out but in the last over of the innings, he was clean bowled while trying to play a big shot. Ishant Sharma showed him the way to the pavilion with a perfect yorker, while trying to play which he fell on the ground. While returning to the pavilion, he praised Ishant Sharma's bowling.
Continuing his aggressive form, Narine thrashed all the Delhi bowlers. He scored 85 runs in 39 balls with the help of seven sixes and seven fours. Delhi gave him life on the score of 53 which proved costly and Narine made his highest score in T20 cricket. Andre Russell scored 41 runs in 19 balls and Rinku Singh scored 26 runs in eight balls.
Narine hit the first four to Khalil Ahmed at deep point. He scored 26 runs including three sixes and two fours in the fourth over of Ishant Sharma. On the other hand, Phil Salt got a lease of life from David Warner but he could not take advantage of it and was out on the next ball. After this, 18 year old Angkrish came on the field and hit a four on the very first ball. He also took the second ball to the boundary line. Delhi bowlers could not control these two batsmen. Narine and Angkrish were out in two consecutive overs but after that Russell continued the flow of runs.
