Today the wait for the full schedule of IPL 2024 is about to end. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is going to announce the remaining schedule of the 17th season of IPL shortly. BCCI had released the schedule of only 21 matches in view of the Lok Sabha elections in the country, which are to be played till April 7. A total of 74 matches are to be played in the tournament. Recently the election dates were announced, after which the remaining schedule has been prepared accordingly.

Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases. The first phase of voting will be held on April 19 and the last phase of voting will be held on June 1. There was talk of hosting the IPL abroad due to the clash of dates with the general elections. However, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah made it clear a few days ago that all the matches will be held on Indian soil. According to the report of Cricbuzz, the final match of IPL can be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The opening match was held in Chennai.
Apart from the final, Qualifier-2 can also be held at MA Chidambaram Stadium. Whereas, Eliminator and Qualifier-1 are likely to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Let us tell you that the opening match and the final match of the 16th season were held on the ground of Ahmedabad. Talking about the current season, five matches have been played till Sunday. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans have won. The sixth match will be held between RCB and Punjab on Monday.
