Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul achieved a major feat in the match against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday. KL Rahul has become the fifth batsman in the history of IPL to complete 4000 runs as an opener. Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli are the other batsmen to achieve this feat in IPL. KL Rahul scored a half-century against Rajasthan Royals at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Rahul needed 35 runs to achieve this feat. KL Rahul has also equaled Virat Kohli's record of scoring runs as an opener by playing an inning of 76 runs in 48 balls against Rajasthan Royals. As an opener, Virat Kohli has scored 4041 runs in 107 matches in IPL. He has scored eight centuries and 29 half-centuries. Whereas KL Rahul has scored 4041 runs in 94 matches. Rahul has scored 4 centuries and 34 half-centuries.

At the start of the tournament, Rahul became the first batsman to score 1000 runs for LSG in the IPL. He had achieved a historic feat in the match against Shubman Gill's GT. Apart from this, he became the fastest player to score 4000 IPL runs as an opening batsman.
