Former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has told why Gautam Gambhir is the biggest contender to become the head coach of Team India? Navjot Singh Sidhu mentioned IPL 2024, in which Gautam Gambhir was the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders i.e. KKR team and played an important role in getting his team the title. He was with Lucknow Super Giants for the last two seasons and the team reached the playoffs there too, but after the 2023 season, he joined KKR and here he took the team forward with his strategy and made the team a champion.
After leading KKR to the IPL 2024 title, many people have advocated for Gautam Gambhir to be made the head coach of Team India. Now Navjot Singh Sidhu's name has also been added to this list, who has clearly described Gambhir as a contender for the head coach. Navjot Singh Sidhu posted an ex, writing, “Either I will make a way or find a way, it was Gautam Gambhir's resolve for KKR that highlighted his potential-defining roles to win the IPL. He is the top contender for the head coach of the Indian team.”
Gautam Gambhir, who played a key role in Team India's victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup final and the 2011 ODI World Cup final with his batting, also captained the Indian team in some matches and the team performed well in them. However, he retired from international cricket and IPL many years ago and is seen in the role of coaching. Gautam Gambhir is also the first choice of BCCI. The board can soon make a big announcement about him. Gautam Gambhir can be made the head coach of the team by the 2027 ODI World Cup.
