Karthik has missed only two matches in this long IPL career. In the first season, he did not play a match against Kolkata Knight Riders, while in 2023, he remained out of a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Apart from these two matches, this Indian wicket keeper has played every match of the league.
Dinesh Karthik is currently a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL. He was bought by RCB in 2022 by spending a huge amount of Rs 5.5 crore. The year 2022 was wonderful for him, he got the role of a new finisher in the team. Karthik played this with great honesty. On the basis of his IPL performance, he was also successful in making a comeback in the Indian team. Karthik scored 330 runs in 16 matches in that IPL season with an excellent strike rate of 183.33. However, his last year was very disappointing.

This is Karthik's second stint for RCB, before which he had played for this team in 2015. Karthik has been a part of total 6 teams in IPL. Karthik, who started his IPL journey with Delhi Daredevils (2008-14), has played for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings – 2011), Mumbai Indians (2012-13), Gujarat Lions (2016-17), Kolkata Knight Riders (2018-21) and Has played for Royal Challengers (2015, 2022–present). During this period, in a total of 240 matches, Karthik has scored 4516 runs at an average of around 26, which includes 20 half-centuries. As a keeper, Karthik is second only to Dhoni in total dismissals (133) as well as stumpings (36).
