Upon joining the franchise in Kolkata on Thursday, Gautam Gambhir said, “I have already said at the auction table that he (Mitchell Starc) is the X factor for us and I am sure he will perform well. And there is no pressure of price tag. I hope what he has done at the international level, he will do the same for KKR.
Gautam Gambhir has scored the maximum 3345 runs in 122 matches for KKR. KKR registered 9 consecutive wins in 2014 and became champions and achieved their first win against Mumbai Indians the next year. Under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir, KKR won the trophy in 2012 and 2014 but then finished seventh in the playoffs in 2021 and again in 2022 and 2023.
