Now only a few days are left for the start of IPL 2024. In the 17th season, all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be seen taking charge of Mumbai Indians (MI). MI has handed over the captaincy to Hardik in place of Rohit Sharma. MI had won five trophies under the leadership of Rohit. Hardik is busy preparing after joining MI training camp. Hardik has shared an emotional post about West Indies' legendary all-rounder Kieron Pollard. Pollard is the batting coach of MI. He used to play as a player for MI till IPL 2022. He has spent a long time with Hardik in MI.
While sharing a new and old picture with Pollard on the social media platform 'X' on Saturday, Hardik wrote, “Some relationships never change my brother but become stronger with time.” Excited to work together again.'' He also added three heart emojis. There are huge reactions from fans on Hardik's post. One user commented, “Good luck to both of them for the upcoming season.” Praising the explosive batting of both, another user wrote, “Brothers of Destruction.” Another said, “Let's see Hardik's captaincy.” And how does MI perform under Pollard's coaching?
It is noteworthy that Hardik made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2015. He was a part of the MI squad for seven consecutive seasons. He moved to Gujarat Titans (GT) ahead of IPL 2022, where he stayed for two seasons. Under his captaincy, GT won the title in its debut season and finished runner-up the next year. MI, captained by Hardik, will start its campaign in the upcoming season on March 24. MI has to face GT in the first match. Both of them will compete in the stadium of Ahmedabad.
