The five-match Test series between India and England has ended today. India won the last match by an innings and 64 runs and won the series 4-1. With the end of this series, the focus of cricket fans as well as players is going to be on the upcoming IPL season. A few days before the start of IPL 2024, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal has made a big revelation regarding the IPL season to be held in 2025. Arun Dhumal has told that there is going to be a mega auction for IPL 18.

A few weeks ago, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In which 21 matches will be organized between 22 March and 7 April. However, the dates of the general elections are yet to be announced, due to which the board is waiting before announcing the schedule of the second phase of the tournament.

Talking to StarSports, Arun Dhumal has said that there will be a mega IPL auction in 2025. Franchises can retain three or four players and then have to prepare the complete squad through the mega auction. Arun Dhumal said, “We will definitely do a mega auction, where you get a chance to pick three-four players and then you have a new team. This makes it more interesting and this format will continue.”

He further said, “Hopefully the mega auction will be bigger and as good as before, the way talent is coming out not only from India but from other countries. Teams like Afghanistan have also benefited, who have been able to showcase their talent.

“We ideally want home and away games, but if there is an issue regarding timing, we will see how we manage it,” Dhumal said. The thinking is that no one should get more advantage than the other team. There should be equal opportunities for the team.
