Indian team's young batsman Sarfaraz Khan will not be seen playing in IPL 2024. Delhi Capitals had released Sarfaraz Khan before the IPL 2024 auction. Sarfaraz did not find any buyer in the IPL auction. However, Sarfaraz Khan recently debuted for India and performed brilliantly, which has increased his hopes of playing in the IPL.
Sarfaraz Khan has played 50 matches in IPL. He has scored 585 runs at an average of 22. He was struggling while playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023. This season he could play only 4 matches. However, during the Test series against England, he batted at a fast pace and scored three half-centuries in three matches.
Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Sarfaraz said that he has continued training in Mumbai so that he is ready whenever any IPL franchise picks him as a replacement player. Sarfaraz said, “In a big IPL season there is a risk of losing players to injuries and then you get calls. But I have only hard work in my hands. I want to keep working hard. Right now I am not a part of IPL. I have to be ready for this. I have to continue my practice at home and also continue my red ball practice.
The first match of IPL 2024 will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai. Chennai Super Kings won the fifth title by defeating Gujarat Titans last season.
