Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has given big information regarding the return of wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant in IPL 2024. Parth Jindal has told that Rishabh Pant will be the captain of Delhi Capitals in the upcoming season of IPL, but he will play only as a batsman in the first half. The responsibility of wicketkeeper will be given to some other player. However, later they can stand behind the wicket.
Parth Jindal told ESPNcricinfo that the Delhi Capitals coaching staff, including head coach Ricky Ponting and team director Sourav Ganguly, were confident about Rishabh Pant. He said, “Rishabh is batting. He is running. He has started wicketkeeping. He is likely to be fully fit for the IPL. I am expecting that Rishabh will play the IPL and he will be there from the first match. Will captain.”
The team co-owner further added, “In the first seven matches, we will play him only as a batsman and based on how his body responds, we will decide for the remaining matches of the IPL.” Pant recently shared a video in which he was taking wicket-keeping drills. Earlier, he was seen batting in a warm-up match. In another video, Pant is seen running.
